Well, I don't know where the time has gone, but my baby has turned 9 years old. She really wanted a two tier cake so since we do not have a huge family the top tier is fake. She was pleased as punch and the top tier is still sitting in the china cabinet being saved for posterity.

Pink Bow Cake

This has turned out to be a very popular design for me, as I have replicated it many times now. Now matter how many times I do it the bow presents itself to be a challenge to me. This time was no different. The day before pick up I was frantically recreating a new bow since the first one crumbled into pieces...due to the fact that I forgot to add tylose to the fondant. Luckily...this bow passed the test.

A Cake to Remember to the Rescue!!

It was the morning of the day before the wedding, when I received the call from the family. After 5 hours of attempting to cover one tier with fondant they came to the realization that covering a square cake with fondant is a lot harder than it looks. The cakes were delivered to me baked, leveled and torted. Almost a cake decorators dream come true...except I still had to ice and cover in fondant. Not quite the blank canvas I sometimes wish for.
